From Brokenness to Blessings

"And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." -James 5:15

We recently received this testimony from one of our partners in South Asia. It is a testimony of God’s healing power and redemption, that you are making possible through your generosity.

Krishna, once severely addicted to alcohol, faced severe consequences due to his addiction. His health deteriorated rapidly, and he was diagnosed with fragile lungs. His condition worsened to the point where he began coughing up blood, and doctors told him that his lungs were so weak that he would not live much longer. Despite seeking treatment from several doctors, he found little relief, and his situation seemed hopeless.

One day, Krishna turned to his sister, a devout believer, and expressed a desire to attend church with her for five weeks. He promised that if he felt better during that time through God’s healing hand, he would give his life to the Lord. By the grace of God, during these five weeks, Krishna experienced miraculous healing. He stopped coughing up blood and began to feel strength returning to his lungs. It was a powerful testimony to his faith, as he recognized the hand of the Lord working in his body.

As a result of the improvement in his health, Krishna took the bold step of committing his life to Christ, and we had the honor of baptizing him last year during our Easter service.

However, his journey didn’t end there. In November, Krishna’s health became critical again. The doctors recommended lung surgery, which caused him significant fear due to the life-threatening risks involved, as well as the financial burden of the procedure. But after much prayer and trust in God, Krishna was referred to a renowned hospital with top doctors and state-of-the-art facilities. Praise God, the surgery was successful, and even more miraculous, the entire medical bill was covered by insurance, relieving them of financial strain.

During this challenging time, Sanyasiamma, Krishna’s wife, who was not yet a believer, silently prayed in her heart, asking Jesus to bring her husband back after the surgery. She made a vow that if God answered her prayer, she would organize a seven-week cottage prayer at their home. By God’s grace, Krishna has recovered, and Sanyasiamma has faithfully kept her promise, having already completed three weeks of prayer gatherings, with four more weeks to go.

We are fervently praying that, before the end of the seven weeks, the Lord will touch Sanyasiamma’s heart, and she will also come to know Christ as her personal Savior. Your prayers for this couple’s journey of faith are deeply appreciated.

As it says in James 5:15: “And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” Truly, this is the testimony of Krishna and Sanyasiamma’s faith, and we trust that God will continue to work wonders in their lives.

Yours in Christ,
