We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9
I was so moved by the report received from one of our national leaders in South Asia. At the beginning of her report, she wrote the verses cited above. This woman is truly living out the difficulty but also the hope and promise of these verses. She has continued leading the ministry in this area even after the devastating loss of her husband just a couple of years ago. She has been a light and an example to me, even though I've never had the blessing of meeting her in person. I'd like to share some of the things with you that she listed in her report.
GOSPEL-PREACHING: through the work of the pastors from this region, 15 new areas have been reached with the gospel!
REVIVAL MEETING: More than 250 youth attended a revival meeting on November 3rd. "This brought great revival in the lives of youth who are going to be defenders of the faith". This type of meeting is planned to be held every year at their main campus.
CHURCH PLANTING: there is a church that was started with only 7 members in 2021. "The works of God are always wonderful." Land had been given by someone who was previously ministered to through the medical ministry. A small thatched church structure was built and the
group dedicated it on December 19th. Our sister asks for prayer for this village because so many of them practice witchcraft.
OUTREACH MINISTRIES: This group is conducting free medical clinics in the mountain area twice a month by one of the pastors who is a trained and certified nurse. "We are adapting ways to preach the gospel."
Our sister ended her report with this, "I saw the evidence of how God has proved and provided for us in the past. And I am sure of my hope in Him that He will provide everything we are in need." I pray this encourages you to step out and live with more faith knowing that your Father will take care of your every need.
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
