This story was originally shared in the Fall 2022 Partnership Press, quarterly newsletter and was given to us by a pastor serving in Asia.
The names of people and locations have been changed to help protect the identity of our brothers and sisters who live in regions where the Christian faith is not welcome by their government. Please pray for their safety but more for unwavering faith as they continue to love and serve our Father who loves them greatly.
Jyoti lives in a remote village and is a non-believer with strong idol worship practice. At the same time, she also loved and respected the local pastor, Zayn, who ministers in her village.
Recently, Jyoti developed severe and unbearable abdomen pain. She did many rituals in the temples to get healed from the pain but it was of no use. She also visited a few doctors in the nearby town who gave her medication but did not help either. During the time of rituals and visiting doctors, Pastor Zayn visited her and offered to pray for her but she was reluctant.
After almost 6 weeks of trying out numerous healing methods, she did not get any relief. Desperate, Jyoti finally sent word for the pastor to come to her home and pray for her. Pastor Zayn visited her in her home with his wife Amaja. The pastor and his wife both laid their hands on Jyoti and prayed with great burden and tears for the Lord to heal her and deliver her from this pain that had plagued her for so long.

That night Jyoti had the best sleep since before the pain began. The abdomen pain did not bother her the entire night. The next morning she woke up with no pain at all! She was completely healed. Immediately, she realized that the prayers of the pastor had worked and in the following week she decided to give her life to Jesus, she decided to follow Jesus for the rest of her life and also obeyed the Word of God by getting baptized.
Praise to the Lord for his marvelous and miraculous work in the life of Jyoti. I praise the lord for Pastor Zayn & Amaja for their willingness to serve the Lord even among opposition and persecution.
Please uphold the pastor and village in your prayers. Shalom.
